Celebrating Excellence: The King’s Awards for Enterprise Honours Outstanding Businesses

In a momentous celebration of entrepreneurial achievement, His Majesty the King proudly announces the recipients of The King’s Awards for Enterprise. Held on Monday, May 6th, this prestigious ceremony honoured 252 outstanding businesses from every corner of the United Kingdom, spanning diverse sectors and embodying the spirit of innovation and success.

This year’s awards ceremony, held just two days ago, recognized the outstanding contributions of these enterprises to the UK economy, with a total of 257 Awards bestowed. Among them, five exceptional businesses stood out, receiving accolades in multiple categories, showcasing their unparalleled commitment to excellence.

Recognizing the strategic importance of these businesses in driving economic growth, Minister for Enterprise Kevin Hollinrake extends his heartfelt congratulations to the recipients. He acknowledges their talent, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit, underscoring their vital role in fostering prosperity both domestically and internationally.

Formerly known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, the awards were renamed last year to honour the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II, now continuing under His Majesty the King’s patronage. Established 58 years ago, the award program has recognized over 7,000 exemplary companies since its inception in 1965.

Among this year’s distinguished recipients, Harrsion Spinks, a fifth-generation family-owned luxury bedmaker, and components manufacturer, have been honoured with a prestigious King’s Award for Sustainable Development. Additionally, three construction contractors – Henry Brothers, Willmott Dixon, and ZED Pods – have been recognized for their outstanding efforts in promoting sustainable development, exemplifying a commitment to responsible business practices.

Willmott Dixon’s consecutive recognition in the prestigious business accolade underscores its ongoing dedication to promoting opportunity and sustainability. Ian Henry, CR Director at Henry Brothers, emphasizes the organization’s deep-rooted commitment to responsible business practices, ingrained in its culture since inception.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise recognize outstanding achievement across four categories: Innovation, International Trade, Sustainable Development, and Promoting Opportunity through social mobility. Recipients of these awards undergo a rigorous assessment process, evaluated by experts from various sectors, culminating in recommendations by the Prime Minister.

As the year unfolds, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenants will ceremoniously present the awards to businesses across the nation, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the economic landscape of the United Kingdom. Eligible businesses are encouraged to apply for one or more categories, with each recipient embodying excellence and innovation in their respective fields.
